USG night at the races. Josh was
looking to have an impressive run with corporate sponsors at the track and Gary
Alley from Alley Drywall in attendance. josh had problems in practice with the
carburetor which caused him to miss much of the practice session. Josh was able
to correct the problem for the next practice and thought he was ready for
qualifying. During the qualifying run the carb problem was back and Josh
qualified 8th quick with a 14.16. With the help from Ricky Bilderback, they got
the carb fixed and Josh was ready for his heat. In the heat he started 2nd row
inside and quickly went to the front and was working on the leader for the lead
and finished second side by side. In the feature, Josh once again started on the
inside, 3rd row. At the start he fell back trying to get to the top as the
inside line did not get moving. Once he made it to the top Josh was back to
10th. He started charging hard to the front and used the bottom to pass a lot of
cars and was up to 5th and battling for 4th when a caution came out for rain and
shortened the race by 6 laps. |

Josh was looking to build off of his feature win from the previous race night. The big question everybody had, could Josh work his way through the field. Josh practiced the car and ran one session as he was happy with the car and sat out the second session. Josh qualified 5th quick with a 14.082. This is his fastest lap so far for the season. Josh started outside pole in the trophy dash and had a great start and took the lead and went on to win the trophy dash his second in a row. In the heat Josh started 3rd row inside and avoided a wreck that he had to come to a complete stop and restarted Josh in second. He battled hard and finished second right on the leader. The feature had the KJ Motorsports driver starting 4th row outside. He quickly began to move forward and gained positions. He was up to 5 the when a caution came out. On the choose rule for the restart Josh opted to restart on the inside which put him in second. He fought with the leader for a few laps and slid back to 4th where he ran right with the leaders and finished in that position. Josh was the point leader for the night and carried the Popeye's Chicken point leader flag on his car for the evening. |
